The weekend was nice. Brad and I celebrated what we've always considered our true anniversary--the day we met. We went out for a nice dinner. Remembering how it was last year, I still can't help but be amazed at how quickly our lives changed and how quickly we adapted to living with each other. Definitely an example of "when it's right, it's right". We took a huge gamble and won. ♥

On the raid front, positive news: our twelve or so active raiders decided to leave the guild. There wasn't much of a guild, anyway, just basically us.

The GM seemed okay when we joined. Really, I didn't care, we just had to leave our old guild in order to commit to the raiding alliance, and we joined the first alliance guild that offered. But then the GM took his "alt" (really, his raiding main, though he tried to convince us otherwise) to an elitist high-end raiding guild and lost interest in actually helping out his guild or running with us at all. We tried to take him to a 10 man hard mode run and he was just snotty and rude, telling us in so many words that we sucked when we fucked up, then just raid quitting when he lost patience for it. He's an ass.

So, recently our RL started talking to another one of the guilds that's in the alliance who have about 8-10 raiders of their own and he decided it'd be sweet if we joined their guild and added a few more of their members to the run. This still leaves us plenty of room for the few random puggers we enjoy running with. Same loot system, too. New group that needs a bit of training, but they seem to learn fast. We made very solid progress on the Keepers with them last night, good sign.

And the guild who ditched our alliance to pair with our old guild is totally getting theirs; their Ulduar run failed, they freaked out when they realized how badly our old guild sucks, and now they are running Naxx--AHAHAHA--to gear up fail old guild. Can I just say, LMAO? Because. Aaaaaaahahahhaa.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: my shaman is level 75! OMG. I've healed a Nexus run, as well, and it went rather smoothly. Only one death, and that was because the mage forgot to jump during Keristraza. Silly mage.

Tonight is a continuation of Ulduar 10. We are at Yogg. omf.

I am sure comments will get spoilery. You are warned. Also--I am unspoiled for tomorrow, so please don't discuss it here.

TORCHWOOD IS AMAZING, THE END.

In other news, I healed a regular Utgarde Keep on my shaman last night. My first dungeon healing experience! We were all around the same level and gear type (quest blues and greens), so it was fairly appropriate. And I have to say, it could have gone worse. I was very nervous but also excited. The tank died once, which was my fault (I sort of panicked when I saw one of the DPS almost dying and let the tank get down too low), but we still managed to get that boss down. And we wiped once on Ingvar simply because the tank forgot to run out of Dark Smash, so, not really my fault, that one. In total, one death and one wipe. Not really that bad, considering I still don't have my level 80 special heal yet (and when I recall our first foray into that place on our mains and how much we wiped, it seems like a huge improvement). I went OOM a lot, but only at the very end of boss fights, which is encouraging. The group was very nice about it, said I did just fine. No loot, but we got our UK quests done, big fat experience there. I figured out a macro for an "oh shit" heal later on that I think will improve my next attempt. Huge learning curve for me.

Rather than get all emo over the random wtfery of our raiding alliance, I am just focusing on my shaman. She's halfway to 72. I hafta say, Northrend is actually fun after all the old world and even BC content. We've quested out Borean Tundra so far, and just moved onto Howling Fjord.

Brad is leveling his DK with me. It's actually kind of hilarious how untouchable a DK with earth shield is. Swear to god, his health never ticks below 90% at any point if we're together, no matter how many mobs he's got on him. LOL. Epic. My mana pool and spell power number keep getting bigger. Hopefully I'll not suck completely in my first dungeon. I've got the spec down, certainly, I just have to learn how to put all of it into action, know when to hit which heal, which oh shit buttons to use when, and so forth. Any healing advice, healers out there? I know already from chatting non-stop with a holy pally friend that I am going to go OOM a lot in the beginning, but any general tips would be useful.

Work sucks and I am almost hoping to be let go at this point. Or re-hired by our new owner. That might be cool. Either option seems equally appealing at this point. I think it's the anticipation of all the badness to come (and it's been this way for years now, a slow escalation of "blah" to higher and higher levels of it and there never seems to be a stopping point) that's crushing my spirit more than anything else. I use to love working here, love the people. Now the only thing that gets me through the day is thinking of going home to Brad.

Crappy weekend for a variety of small reasons, but eh. My shaman is a couple bubbles from 71 (!!), which is pretty awesome. We managed to get General down to 30% or so on a couple attempts last night. Not bad.

Having drama with the raiding alliance though, and it may not exist/we may not be included much longer. )

Staying home today was nice. Didn't sleep in, but I got a lot of housework done and some girly time in.

Raid was amazing last night. We actually one-shotted Mimiron and cleared to General, even got an attempt in. Progression is exciting! My shaman is halfway to level 66, so decent progress on that front. I maxed her jewelcrafting already. Slightly concerned with this supposed raiding alliance one of our RLs is making with our old guild, but...eh. Whatever happens, happens.

Shaman level 64! Eeee. Four levels to Northrend, and I am seriously considering just running Outland dungeons to get myself there. This way I won't be burnt out on questing when I get there. 68-80 is going to be a loooong haul. But at least the questing is better, more profitable, and has better rewards. Not to mention the ability to run Northrend dungeons. 'S'gonna be fun!

Raid was very good last night. Having people from the old guild in wasn't an issue. They didn't talk much at all, just went with the flow. We actually had to sit people out, we had so many wanting to go. No loot for me, but I did pick up two epic leatherworking patterns. Niiice. Tonight hopefully we'll kill Mimiron.

They are letting us go at noon today as well as giving us off tomorrow. Sweet.

Oh, also, dentist yesterday was fail. They wanted us to pay upfront for the services (something to the tune of $500) and then have us submit a claim afterward, but I do not trust this provider at all, so we walked out. I can't afford to slap that kinda money on my credit card to get my teeth scraped, sorry.

Shaman almost to level 63. We took two friends around our level and one 80 tank from our alts' guild and did Outland instances all night, VERY good experience and loot (I got a few blue pieces, as well as a healy totem!). Hopefully we can get it going again tonight, it was a blast.

On the raid front, kind of amusing: we ducked out of raid on Sunday because of the party we went to. We weren't sure how late it would run or if we'd be in the mood to raid after, so we just told them we'd probably not be there. Of course, they downed Mimiron without us, but the funny part is that they invited six people from our old guild that we left to join the aliiance (including the GM and his wife that wouldn't speak to us after we left)! AWKWARD, THAT. I wonder if they'll come when they realize we're in it? LOL. Either way, whatev. As long as they don't bring their fail. Hopefully this week we'll actually see the Mimiron kill (not that he drops any loot I could remotely use).

Can I just say, LOLZ?

Got my bracers off of Hodir finally! Kinda glad I passed on that bow now, since the bracers were a much bigger upgrade for me. It was the first time they've dropped, too. Had to re-gem my helm to get some hit back, but I am at perfect cap now (8.08%), so it's all good.

This week went by pretty fast, and next week they are giving us off the 3rd to compensate for the 4th being a Saturday this year. Kinda nice. Although Brad will be at work, so it will not be nearly as nice. :\

I'm getting my hair cut today. Need a blouse or something for this party on Sunday. Meh. Also I finally got Brad and I dentist appointments, and made my gyno one. Hopefully I will still have insurance to cover them all.

Although, today it's Brad's fault. Wink wink nudge nudge.

Last night, cat lady boss dropped the bow (for the first time). And I passed on it to another hunter. omg I am too nice. I just couldn't. I've got the gun off of Kologarn and she was wearing the gun off of KT and hadn't got much gear up until last night. The bow would be just an extra half a percent of crit for me, whereas for her it was a bigger upgrade. Since there are only three regular hunters in our alliance and the other two now have it, I will pick it up the next time it drops. I didn't want to be greedy for something that is hardly a sidegrade when another hunter really needed it. So, no harm no foul. I couldn't bring myself to roll on Rune Edge, either (IMO, swords, even with hunter stats on them, should never go to hunters unless NO melee need them), and Twisted Visage has yet to drop. I've got major competition for that last, anyway, even if it did. Not needing much is kind of good, actually. I'll rise to the top of the SK list eventually. Hee. On the subject of lists, I was third on the overall meter last night. Not bad. Got beat out by a feral druid and a ret pally. Shocking, that. I am performing leagues ahead of the other hunters (and with the spec that is not the flavor of the month no less), so I am pleased.

Got and tried to sell another runed orb. Hopefully I can keep that going so I can continue funding my alt. ;) Her JC'ing and mining are maxed and I've already got LOADS of Outland gems banked so that hopefully I can get her through to 375 without spending too much gold. The lower tier Northrend gems are actually fairly cheap, simply because the zone is current (the old world gems were actually more expensive by far to purchase from the AH), so getting myself above 400 should not be an issue, and from there it's just a matter of cutting gems as I prospect them/purchase them with badges.

I joked with my parents last week that one day I was going to do my usual WoW blather that no one understands and then just casually throw in like, "btw, preggers" at the end to see if they were paying attention. LOL. One day.

Guys, please feel free to take me off your flists, by the way. I know a lot of you must not understand/read/care about these posts, and that's totally cool with me. No hard feelings.

Shaman is level 56. omg so close to Outland! Not that I'm in love with Outland, mind, but it sort of means she's not a baby anymore. :) I am excited about playing her. I have a whole set of level 80 (or, you know, thereabouts) gear already in her bank ready to go, most of it even gemmed/enchanted. Hopefully she'll hit 80 before the next patch.

Laundry tonight, then raid. Yay easy bosses.

Horribly, horribly bored. My boss is gone and his replacement is going to be working partially from home down south and partially here, which leaves all sorts of admin issues in the air for me. I am slowly realizing that it doesn't matter. The higher-ups here haven't spoken to us in months. It's pretty clear this is just slowly folding to nothing. Ah well.

Father's Day was nice this weekend. Brad made a delicious potato salad that everyone loved. Next weekend we've got a family thing to go to (my mom's cousin's son's engagement party), already bowed out of Sunday raid for it.

Raid was kind of eh again. We didn't have our usual healers, so even Freya was a bit of a chore, but we two-shotted her and just called it. No sense in wiping to Mimiron when we were half-wiping on Freya's trash. I find myself being rather ambivalent about it. One, I am very into my shaman and would rather be leveling her than anything else. Two, I am not overly fond of the raiding alliance leaders. Three, I have my tier pieces and am down to needing only a few things from soft-mode Ulduar, which is all I can do with this group so far, so my will is fading. I still love raiding and playing my hunter, but maybe we'll just ride out this group and look for an actual guild that runs their own. DKP wouldn't suck so much if we only needed a few things here and there.

More importantly, got my shaman over half-way through level 53 (55% into level 53 simply by going around and honoring the mid-summer fire festival flames = win). Dumped some gold on BoEs/craftable epics and blues for her once she hits 80. Probably won't be for a few weeks, but still. Outland questing is better organized, so hopefully we'll just breeze through to 68. Brad can switch to his DK and I can put on some better gear (Northrend blues not half bad). A death knight and a healer is quite an uber leveling combo.

I got my helm off of Thorim last night, so I used my badges to buy runed orbs. Sold two, yay gold! I am pleased with the tier set. The set bonuses are fairly sweet (10% more damage from serpent sting for the 2-piece, +600 attack power proc off of steady shot with the 4-piece) and look awesome all together. I am down to just needing sidegrades and random physical DPS baubles. Oh, and a staff. But that can always wait, it's just a stat stick for me.

Last night I also found someone who wanted that Ulduar BoE I won, C.O.D.'ed it to them for 3K gold. Nice. Raid was sort of...annoying. We were having trouble with Mimiron and the raid leader got so fed up he just called it. Our raiding alliance is skilled but the people from this particular guild lose their patience way too fast. Ah well. I'm geared to hell now, so if I wanted to go to an actual guild and run with them I could. With my gear and DPS I could probably have my pick of decent (if not high end) raiding guilds.

Shaman is level 47. omgomg.

So today is my boss' last day. They hired his coordinator from his old office to cover some work for him part time after he's gone (until the merger when I am sure we'll all be bye bye). Nice guy name of Mark, also plays WoW so we're geeking out already. Mark's gotta go back down south for a week so we're going to do lunch (me, boss, him, co-worker) at 11 AM, then boss said we could go home. Woo!

Oh my god, is the week over yet? Not that it's been that bad. It's gone by pretty fast. Mostly just reading fic at work and playing my shaman/raiding on my hunter at home. Shaman is up to level 46. They're announcing so much stuff about the next patch that is really exciting, especially in reference to shamans. I can't wait to do heroics with her. I doubt I'll get into raiding on her (maybe Naxx, but I can't imagine healing Ulduar atm) but I truly have been nuts about her ever since I switched her spec to resto.

Raid was okay. We cleared up to and including Hodir last night. I picked up an epic leatherworking pattern off Razorscale, which was pretty cool. I also won a BoE epic that will net me loads of gold if I can sell it. No loot for myself personally (Wrathstone dropped but the other hunter won it) but the pattern and the BoE more than make up for it. That money is going to fund my shaman's jewelcrafting. ;) I also only have about a dozen badges until I can get my helm. Once I have that four-set bonus I am pretty much set. There are other things, of course, trinkets, rings, necks, cloaks and such, but you usually never get that stuff easily, as all the physical DPS rolls on them. And then there's the two staves, but I've never seen Twisted Visage drop, period, and the competition for it would be thick. I highly doubt we're going to down General any time soon, so Lotrafen is off the table, as well as any Yogg loot (lol won't even bother mentioning Algalon) and I wouldn't take Rune Edge from a melee DPS even though it is an upgrade. There are also sidegrades here and there, as well as the bow off of Auriaya which has a little more crit that I would prefer over the gun, but I am fine with what I have currently. I did an average of 5K DPS for the entire night last night, and topped off 6K on some of the more hunter friendly fights (Ignis), so I know I am doing the right things. I was fourth on the overall damage meter, which isn't bad considering the fact that I literally can't compete with the people above me (rogues, death knights, and feral druids) as far as class goes and I am out-DPSing the other hunters in our raid by a large margin.

Keep getting distracted by shaman shiny, though. omgshemustbe80.

Was eaten by WoW this weekend. Spent most of Friday/Saturday in an Ulduar 10, and nine hours non-stop on Sunday running old world dungeons on our alts to get some quick levels. It was freaking awesome. We blew off raid to do the latter. Couldn't stand the thought of wiping on Mimiron for hours and we were having so much fun with our friends on our alts (all members or ex-members of the guild we left that we're still close with). Managed to get about two thirds of the way through 44 on my shaman (three levels in one day is amazing). I respecced resto in order to heal the dungeons and it was a BLAST. I learned a lot about basic healing mechanics just through immersion, and one of my friend's mains is an uber holy pallie so she was giving me advice. I am so glad I downloaded Healbot and TotemTimers omg. I know I was meant to be resto on this char. The minute I put those points into the resto tree I just felt awesome and knew I would get her to 80. Craftable gear and regular dungeon runs will get me geared enough for heroics. And if our little group manages to level together it'll be awesome. I'm a healer, one of us will be a tank I think (if not we've got one or two already-80 tank mains/offspecs toons among us) and the rest are DPS, so it will work out nicely.
